Hurst

Hurst is an independently owned non-fiction publisher, specialising in books on global affairs, particularly religion, conflict, international relations and area studies in Europe, Africa and South Asia. Founded by the late Christopher Hurst (1929-2007) in 1969, Michael Dwyer, who joined the company in 1986,  has been Managing Director since 2007.

They produce upwards of sixty new titles each year, co-publishing them simultaneously in North America with university presses and trade publishers. Kube selects titles pre-publication to promote, especially those that cover the history of Islam, current affairs in the Middle East, and Islamic studies.
